چکیده
Introduction: Mandibular premolars are considered an enigma in dentistry because of their variability anatomical and morphological features making it difficult to treat endodontically. This study was conducted determine the root canal morphology mandibular Nepalese population by using cone beam computed tomography imaging. Methods: One hundred thirty-four images were collected convenience sampling method from April 1 August 31, 2022 Bir Hospital, Kathmandu, Nepal. A total 536 (268 first 268 second premolars) evaluated two examiners (one endodontist one oral radiologist). Canal configuration classified according Vertucci’s classification. Results: In premolar teeth, majority had followed roots fused roots. The most common type I (83.88% 96.65% respectively) V (9.89%) III (1.86%) premolar. VII (0.37%), C-shaped (1.46%), unusual (0.37%) observed premolars, males showed more variation than females; while females males. Conclusions: teeth with cases.

Evaluation of mandibular premolars root canal morphology by cone beam computed tomography
Introduction: To achieve a successful endodontic treatment, the clinician has to identify the different canal configurations.mandibular premolars have the wide variety of root canal morphology and they are known as the most difficult teeth to treat in endodontics.CBCT provides a non-invasive 3D confirmatory diagnosis as a complement to conventional radiography. The aim of this study was to...
متن کاملInvestigating Root Canal Number and Morphology of Mandibular Anterior Teeth Using Cone Beam Computed Tomography
Background and purpose: Root therapy will be successful if it is done based on a correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan with the knowledge of morphology and tooth anatomy, debridement, disinfection, and obturation of the entire root canal system. This study aimed to investigate the number and morphology of canals in root canals mandibular anterior using cone beam computed tomography (...
متن کاملCone Beam Computed Tomography Study of Root and Canal Morphology of Mandibular Premolars in Indore Population
Knowledge of the variations in root and root canal morphology is mandatory for the success of endodontic treatment. Neglecting to probe, prepare and fill all the canals can lead to failure of endodontic treatment 1 . As a group the mandibular premolars are among the most difficult teeth to treat endodontically, because they have high incidence of multiple roots or canals 2 . Moreover their root...

PURPOSE This study aimed to investigate the clinical anatomy of lower premolar roots in a Spanish population by using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), correlating findings with patient gender and tooth type. MATERIALS AND METHODS Using 70 CBCT images, we evaluated 126 healthy, untreated, well-developed lower premolars. The number and morphology of roots and root canals, and the foramina ...
متن کاملCone-beam computed tomography study of root and canal morphology of mandibular premolars in a western Chinese population
BACKGROUND Traditional radiography is limited in its ability to give reliable information on the number and morphology of root canals. The application of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) provides a non-invasive three-dimensional confirmatory diagnosis as a complement to conventional radiography. The aim of this study was to evaluate the root and canal morphology of mandibular premolars in a...
